WowCity.com is a web-based platform for local business search, ideas
and expression, a resource of opportunities, and a network of inspirational
young people and their projects. Users can create an entry level shopper
account and manage their own profile. For business owners, once they have
created their shopper account, they can submit their business profile
and information for the purpose of using our free promotional, local direct
marketing and paid advertising services. Our aim is to help shoppers find
local businesses in every city, they search in, then be able to learn
more and get connected to the businesses that offer what they're looking
for. WowCity.com works for consumers just like a local newspaper or discount
coupon magazine, however online and interactive, by providing content
such as local business listings, classified ads, printable coupons, city
news, maps, weather, and so much more.
WowCity.com values the privacy of our Shopper Members and keep the
following sensitive information private:

- Cell/Mobile Phone (optional)
Shopper Member Guidelines for Privacy:
- Members should not type or post sensitive information in your public
profiles.
- Members should not type or post sensitive information in classifieds.
- Members should not type or post sensitive information in comments,
captions, and sections available to the public.
Use of Collected Member Information
WowCity.com collects user information during the registration process
including the user's e-mail, first name, middle name, and last name. The
e-mail must be valid since we send an activation link to the e-mail account
to validate the registrant.
Once the account has been activated, the Member is taken to their account
control panel or dashboard. Here we collect non-identifiable and optional
information such as country, city & zip code of residence, interests,
favorite places and businesses, and other shopping, social, and culture
related information. This non-identifiable optional information can be
used by our business members for marketing purposes within any geographic
area mainly by cities. Since every shopper has their own inbox linked
to their profile, the business members can send advertisements to shoppers
that match their criteria. Business members and advertisers will not know
or access the actual names, addresses, and/or e-mails of the shoppers
they are sending ads to.
Contacts List - Request and Approval
WowCity.com members, both Shoppers and Businesses, can build their network
of people via their contacts list. Before anyone becomes a contact, it
requires a request (person making the add request) and approval (person
receiving the request).
Other Collected Information
WowCity.com also collects non-identifiable information such as IP addresses
and conducted search strings using "keywords." We also save
cookies for the purpose of taking users back to the city home page they
last visited in our website.
